Developers Workshop 2005

netlabs.org is organizing a Developers Workshop the weekend of 09. and 10. July 2005 in Dresden, Germany. We think this is an excellent way to talk to other OS/2 and eCS developers and we hope that many of you can join! There are some very nice presentations and for sure we will have enough time for interesting sidetalks as well!

Thanks a lot to Robert Henschel for organizing it!

new IRC Server

So far our IRC Network was on irc.anduin.net but the server had a disc-crash today so we decided to move the network to the eCS Network as well. You can now connect to irc.netlabs.org for visiting the #netlabs channel.

No war for selfish reasons!

As the webmaster and founder of netlabs.org I would like to share my opinions agains the current war in Iraq.
A lot of our developers and contributors condemn the attack of the United States and its allies on Iraq. We also condemn the crimes done by Saddam Hussein and his regime - but we think war will make the whole situation even worse.

The situation should be solved by the United Nations alone, only a united world can solve problems like terrorism. War leads to suffer and terrorism is the last weapon of people who have nothing else to lose.

As a sign agains the war I've put a new banner on netlabs.org with the simple message "PEACE" in it. It points to the AlterNet webpage, which is an independent source of information in days where propaganda rules on both sides in this conflict...

Some enhancements for the new year :-)

First, I finished my studies! Yeeeah :-) I feel much better now and finaly I have some time again for netlabs.org things. My todo-list is really long and I again started to do some PHP coding to enhance the website.
Changes so far include: CSS changes (links are more obvious now), new admin backend (will get even better) and Odin can finaly register applications again.

There are many things in my head for 2003, it will get a very interesting year I would say! More later...

New CVS page for each project

Each project detail page now got a CVS tab in the navigation in case the project provides a CVS repository at netlabs.org.
This should help in getting the most recent sourcecode of the project.

I'm sorry for the downtime during the weekend, I still have serious JFS locks on the webserver in my data partition. Will change it from JFS to HPFS386 in the next days. JFS simply is not stable enough yet, I'm sorry to say that.
